Community Engagement and Directions Report Released ... this is what we heard!

Over the last nine months we have had a "conversation" across the community about we want our city will look like in the next 40 years. The conversation has allowed thousands of individuals - from residents, to businesses, youth, community groups and staff, to come together and share their hopes and dreams for the city. The aim wasn't to generate a series of isolated suggestions, but to have a true dialogue - an interactive process that stimulated thinking and generated new ideas and knowledge. In many cases, we provided forums for people with diverse perspectives and interests to share the same table, to listen and to learn, and collectively become inspired as to what might be possible for our city.

The Community Engagement and Directions report is a summary of all the 'conversations" we have had. The report also provides the direction for the new Strategic Plan. It is a document rich in content and strong in its direction for our future. Enjoy the reading!

The Report will be presented to General Committee of Council on June 11, 2008.

Please note, the Community Engagement and Directions report is over 100 pages in length with colour photos, graphs and charts. The Executive Summary to the report is seven pages in length. Printed copies are available for reference in the Central Library, Business Department.
