Become a member of a committee

The City has 13 committees, boards and agencies that need a citizen's perspective on different issues. You can apply to become a citizen member of a City committee.

To apply you must be:

  • A Canadian citizen
  • Over 18-years-old
  • A resident or business owner in Mississauga
  • Have no criminal record
  • Not employed by the City of Mississauga or the Region of Peel

You can view vacancies on City committees to find out which committees are looking for citizen members. Usually a public notice about available positions for citizen members on committees is placed on the City's website and in local newspapers in the fall of the election year for three weeks.

If you're interested in serving on any of the committees you can attend an information session. Details about the information session are mentioned in the public notice.
