Asymmetrical at the base, pointed and serrated at the tip, these large green leaves look spear-like in shape. The arching branches grow broadly and is known for being able to thrive in a variety of environments. Resembling the Elm, the Hackberry is a more resiliant tree.

Flower/Fruit

Small, dark red berry-like fruits that turn dark purple in Fall and often stay on the tree through the colder seasons.

Environment

Full sun or partial shade is ideal. Moist, sandy and well-drained soil is best for growth but prospers in most conditions.
