Peter Jailall is a teacher, poet and storyteller. He has read his poetry across North America, the U.K. and the Caribbean. He is an avid supporter of human rights and social justice as well as an advocate for environmental protection. He has published extensively in the field of education. His books This Healing Place (1993), Yet Another Home (1997), When September Comes (2003) were published by Natural Heritage and Mother Earth: poems for her children (2009) was published by In Our Words Inc. He volunteers with CUSO-VSO as a teacher-trainer in Guyana. In 2010 he received the Guyana Cultural Association Education Award for his work in rural education and community development in Guyana. Peter lives in Mississauga with his wife Sabi and their two sons Dave and Nari.
