Igor Trutanow published two non-fiction books in Berlin (1992). He travelled widely in Central Asia and published in 1994 in Germany his book "Between Koran and Coca Cola". In 1999 he wrote "Birobidshan" a non-fiction book about life of Russian Jews in Siberia. He is also the author of the novels "Paradisestan" and "The Inventor of Freedom", published in 2006 and 2008.
