| Gabriel Timar, born in Hungary, studied engineering at Budapest University. Following the 1956 revolution, he immigrated to Canada. Later, he worked in Africa, Asia, and the South Pacific for private firms and the UN. In 1982, he married, returned to Canada, settled in Mississauga, and taught at Seneca College.
